Strategic Prevention Framework Training (SPF)

April 2, 2020 | 9:00am – 3:00pm | Minocqua, WI
Registration opening soon!

About the Training: Prevention planners are pressed to put in place solutions to urgent problems facing their communities. Research and experience show that prevention must begin with an understanding of complex behavioral health issues within their complex environmental context. Only then can communities establish and implement effective prevention strategies.

To facilitate this understanding, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Agency (SAMHSA) developed the Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF). The five steps and two guiding principles of the SPF offer prevention planners a universal and comprehensive approach to understanding and addressing the substance misuse and related behavioral health issues facing their communities.
This one day training will walk participants through the 5 steps of the SPF model in an effort to create more knowledgeable and impactful prevention professionals.

Target Audience:
This training is designed for prevention planners and coalition members who are looking to increase their impact. The training will include hands on working examples of how to utilize the Strategic Prevention Framework. Ideally, coalitions or community groups would send at least 2-3 members to attend this training.

This training is brought to you by: The Strategic Prevention Frameworks- Partnerships for Success Grant, Education Development Center, and the Northwoods COPE Coalition (Community, Outreach, Prevention, Education)
