Ethics and Boundaries: Being Inclusive of LGBTQ+

Creating an inclusive environment is best accomplished by fostering a culture where people are respected, appreciated and treated honorably. This becomes even more important when considering the procedures, protocols, ethics and boundaries used within provider systems. This training will provide the opportunity for participants to learn about and discuss their understanding of ethics and boundaries issues, state and federal policies, and evaluate service provider behaviors that affect individuals of the LGBTQ+ community. The training provides insights on the ethics and boundaries related to the provision of support and services to LGBTQ+ and how being inclusive will enhance equitable service and better outcomes for LGBTQ+ individuals, their families and allies. In addition, the concept of inclusion helps provide a pathway to meeting the needs of other underserved populations.
