Alcohol Policy Webinars Presented by Julia Sherman:

While Wisconsin’s alcohol consumption and alcohol-related problems are well known, while the system that regulates how alcohol is sold and served is a mystery for most residents. In two one-hour webinars, attendees will learn how municipalities in Wisconsin can create a positive alcohol environment through evidence –based policies and practices that prevent and reduce excessive alcohol use with minimal impact on moderate adult drinkers.

Alcohol Policy Basics, Part 1: Alcohol licensing in Wisconsin:

Learn how municipalities license alcohol sales, how the licensing process can improve or harm the community alcohol environment and the impact of noncommercial (social) access to alcohol on a community. Unlike most other states, Wisconsin licenses alcohol outlets (bars, taverns, restaurants, liquor stores, etc.) to sell and serve alcohol at the municipal level. Local licensing allows municipal leaders and residents to have a significant impact on the number and type of alcohol outlets in their community.
