The Girl Neighborhood Power Alliance is a group of community stakeholders committed to reducing and eliminating drug-use and other negative behaviors among at-rik girls in our community.Goal and Objectives
Goal #1 Reduce subsance abuse amonth youth by addressing the factors in the community that increase the risk of substance abuse and promoting the factorsl that mininmize the risk of substance abuse. Objectives for Goal #1 Provide culturally competent AODA education to youth. In crease pro-social attachement to school and community. Strategies for Goal #1 Create youth-led AODA media campaign Identify emerging needs and possible interventions. Establish additional AOD PEERsuasion sites. Work with other Alliances and youth service providers to integrate more activities focused on AOD prevention. GOAL #2 Establish and strengthen collaboration among neighborhoods, non-profit agencies, and Federal, State and Local governments to support the efforts of the GNP Alliance to prevent and reduce substance abuse among youth. Objectives for GOAL #2 Unite GNP Alliance member in the approach to youth substance abuse, with mutually understood roles and responsibilities. Develop clear strategies for the prevention of youth substance abuse across the Madison community. Strategies for GOAL #2 Enhancement of the existing GNP Alliance that responds to the emerging needs of the community. Strengthen AODA prevention programs at the neighborhood level.Regular Meetings
