Vision Statement

Crawford County youth and adults are healthy, engaged citizens.

Mission Statement

To reduce and/or prevent the use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs among Crawford County youth and adults using comprehensive prevention and health promotion strategies.

Goal and Objectives

C.A.R.E. will achieve the goals by attaining these objectives: 1) increase the proportion youth who report that community laws/norms are not tolerant of the use of dangerous substances; 2) increase the proportion of youth who have friends with negative attitudes/opinions concerning the use of alcohol, tobacco or other drugs; 3) increase the proportion of youth who report having negative attitudes/opinion concerning the use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs; 4) decrease the proportion of youth who report having used alcohol, tobacco and other drugs within the past 30 days; 5) increase the proportion of youth who report that clear standards for behavior exist in their families; 6) increase compliance related to sales of alcohol and tobacco products to minors; 7) increase participation in the coalition; 8) identify prevention system characteristics as priorities for change; 9) coalition member agencies will agree on and utilize a data collection instrument and a database for determining outcomes of community-based programs.
